ENG-FL-14-010 City Metropolitan European Family Oak 180mm Cherry Oiled Engineered Flooring is 180mm wide, has a total thickness of 14mm and comes in standard lengths of 2200mm. The floor has a 2.5mm hardwood layer which if need can be sanded and re-finished up to 3 times, but under a normal maintenance program and in a domestic environment the floor should not need to be sanded for around 20 years.This is a 3 ply engineered floor so it is made from 3 different layers, one being the hardwood wear layer with the other 2 being constructed from spruce. Each plank has bevelled edges (V Grooves) on all four sides resulting in very distinctive grooves between the planks, adding more depth and dimension along with giving an individual definition to each plank.The family grade of this hardwood shows the true excellent appearance of the wood, the pattern of the rings beautifully depicts the annual growth of the tree and while small knots, limited character marks are allowed there is little or no sapwood, mineral streaks or splits.The floor is prefinished with natural oil which adds a deep warm natural feel to the floor. This seemingly transparent surface enhances the natural grain and structure of the wood, allowing its natural beauty to show whilst still offering a deep protection.
