Here is how I set up my phone to do call recording. I listen to the call through the headphones, which is split to the RCA jack input. I also plug in a microphone into the stereo jack input of the mixer. The mixer mixes the caller and my voice, which is outputted to the laptop line-in or mic jack. I use Audacity to monitor the recording and adjust levels, remove background noise, etc. It works good enough, but I don't recommend this for podcasting.
