The Techone SU-29 3d epp 800mm carried by Nitroplanes. I looked at this for a while after seeing 3d profiles up close at the Club indoor events. Thinking I was some time off (in skill level) I put off getting one. Turns out either my skills caught up or this is a real easy model to fly. It was assembled on a rainy day and flew that night. Mostly CA and a bit of epoxy. I've assembled Techone kits before with mixed experiences. Pop wings... easy assembly....great flyers. Trainer King....frustrating assembly....great flyer (once sorted). SU-29 easy assembly....great flyer. The manual calls for a 400-500mah 2s, and 3 5-8g servos. I have a 2s 600mah 30c pack, 3 13g servos, and a LVA. So not exactly a svelt build, regardless it flies great. The servos are Eso8mdii metal gear Emax which should stand up well to mishaps. Rather be flying than fixing. Motor is an Emax GT2205/22 about 1600kv (just in between the recommended 2204 or 2206) The prop is a Gemfan 8x4.5 slowfly. I was doubtful of my skills to fly this in a tight space such as the gym the club flies in but the space out here is actually tighter than that. Still can use a lot more practice before then but I am very encouraged since this was only about the 4th flight. The first flight took place in the park with a fair amount of wind (maybe not so well thought out) but after a bit of trim I was hovering it into the wind like one of my light deltas, but get this.....with much better control, whoda thunk. The high wind is a bit much for it though, at some points it could get jammed down and no amount of aileron could level it, it had to be powered out with full up elevator. A bit hairy but doable. Actually wound up increasing the throws on the control surfaces so I'd like to try some windsurfing again. This thing is great, definitely recommended, built light I think it should be great indoors. If it comes out on the heavy side it should be doable indoors just maybe not as floaty.
