The tour starts at the Markzware stand, next to The Wheel of Markzware. Patrick Marchese, David Dilling and Long Nguyen decide to walk around and check whats happening at the other stands of Graph Expo 2008. First stop on their tour is a booth of a company called Quite Software, where they see Charles James, a long-standing industry figure and friend. Then they have a look at some labels and packaging. Patrick wins a 10% discount. The next stop is Adobe. Its not a surprise that the Adobes booth is packed. A presentation on Live Preflighting is taking place it appears. David talks to representative of DirectSmile whom make personalization software an off they go to watch the HP printers in action (Pitmans stand). Later they come to a large format ink-jet inching out a huge banner- You simply have to preflight those kinds of prints imagine printing a 4 by 4 m big poster on canvas and realizing that something is wrong in the middle of the process! That would cost you an arm and a leg. 4over is next on the list. This booth for sure stands out. Time for a picture! But whats this? It seems like they need to buy FlightCheck! (Some color problems on their final print-out) Collator machine in the finishing section this machine puts printed pieces (collates them) together (e.g. books, calendars). ----the view from above---- Now we see a preparation for a new print- the gold fish printed here will be finished off with glitter in about 20 min. Arthur Verwey from Xante talks to David it seems like business is booming. Stand is busy. And heres the fish. The sweet smell of ink in the morning. Metallic ink says Patrick! Wow, thats fast! http://www.markzware.com
