DEM - Radius Expansion of Randomly Placed Particles

http://bit.do/deHZC IMDevin Secret discount page.
This is a test of various subroutines used by the DEM code. The video covers the initialization process where particles are randomly based on the condition of being within all bounds(invisible plane and cylinder). The initialization volume for random placement was made to be much less than the expanded volume on purpose to test the algorithm. Normally, the initialization volume is set to be larger than the final volume and few particle overlap after random placement. During each step(or movie frame in this case) of the nested loop, the following steps are taken: 1) update link list (volume is first spatially partitioned then potential neighbors are screened by distance for addition to link list) 2) update overlaps for particles in the link list 3) move particles apart by the amount of overlap Note the crystal structure arising from seemingly "random" translation of the particles.
